Upon seeing Jesus, John the Baptist declared "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." His words point towards the truth that Jesus is the perfect lamb without spot or blemish that was offered once and for all by God for His wrath to pass over sins. The Passover meal was given by God to provide redemption and salvation from sins and Egypt for the People of Israel. Jesus gives us the Lord's Supper that points to the salvation from our sins and the redemption from the slavery of sin.
